Funding Deadline for National Victims of Crime Week

Where: Canada,
When: November 7- November 7, 2011

Financial Assistance to Host Events During National Victims of Crime Awareness Week 2012

As in the past, the Government of Canada will provide funding for organizations to host events during National Victims of Crime Awareness Week (NVCAW).   This year, NVCAW occurs from April 22 – 28, 2012.  The theme that has been chosen for NVCAW 2012 is: Moving Forward.

Through the Department of Justice Canada Victims Fund, limited financial assistance will be available for projects that support the goals of NVCAW.  The key goal of NVCAW is to raise awareness about the issues facing victims of crime and about the services, assistance and laws in place to help victims and their families.  The Week also acknowledges the work of victim service providers and their dedication in assisting victims of crime and their families.

The deadline to submit your funding application is November 7, 2011. Applications will only be accepted up to this date. As the amount of funding that is available each year is limited, not all eligible applications can be approved. Geographic distribution, the collaborative nature of the proposed projects and how well projects reflect the NVCAW 2012 theme will be considered during the review process.  Only applications that have been completed in full will be eligible for funding.
